About Intensives
There are two aspects of
a Shaktipat Intensive with Durga Ma:
(1) receiving the transmission
of shakti, and
(2) knowing what to do with it.
The Intensive
You will receive important
information relevant to the special practice of spontaneous experiential
meditation, and natural kundalini awakening.
Intensives include a massive
amount of information on kundalini, chakras, lokas,
granthis, yoga cosmology, stages of progress, special
powers, etc.
Spontaneous shaktipat:
You may receive shaktipat spontaneously at any time during
an Intensive.
The Initiation
You will receive shaktipat
directly from Durga Ma with your initiation into the spontaneous, natural
meditation introduced in the Intensive: Shaktipat Kundalini Yoga
(also called Surrender Meditation, Sahaja Yoga, Natural Meditation,
etc.).
This initiation is optional,
and is open to Intensive participants only.
Meditate Like a Master
In addition to receiving
shaktipat directly from Durga Ma, you receive initiation into
an uncommon spiritual practice, a form of meditation that is extremely
rare and difficult to come by — the authentic meditation of ancient
spiritual masters that is the key to making the fullest use of shaktipat
diksha (shaktipat deeksha, shaktipat initiation). It
is this aspect of Durga Ma’s Intensives that is so unique.
Through this spiritual practice,
you will have the means to allow shakti the freedom to act
according to its own natural intelligence and bring about spontaneous
meditation, natural kundalini awakening, and spiritual evolution.
Natural Meditation and Kundalini
Awakening
In Durga Ma's teaching lineage,
Shaktipat Kundalini Yoga is initiated by means of shaktipat,
the transmission of shakti by an empowered spiritual master,
by which natural meditation and kundalini awakening may be
achieved spontaneously.
The many meditation techniques
available today have their origin in this natural process. In ancient
times, people were observed to spontaneously enter into the meditative
state and experience union with God/Truth. Observers tried to duplicate
what they saw in order to get the same results, and meditation techniques
were born. Many of these techniques have survived into our own time.
They appear in religions and spiritual practices of all kinds throughout
various cultures of the world.
A technique is a certain
way of doing something in order to get a certain result. The process
of trying to achieve spiritual advancement through techniques is certainly
possible, but it is long and demanding. It is possible to take another
road which, though less traveled, can take you with speed and efficiency
to the fulfillment of your spiritual quest.

Glossary of Terms
Shakti
Shakti is the Sanskrit
word for the activating force of nature (prakriti). Shakti
initiates all action. Shakti is often translated as power,
spiritual power or initiation.
Shaktipat
Shaktipat means
shakti-giving. Because shakti initiates all action,
shaktipat is often translated as initiation.
Shaktipat is the
transmission of shakti which initiates spontaneous meditation,
kundalini awakening and transformation.
Shaktipat Diksha (dee-ksha)
Shaktipat initiation.
Diksha (pronounced deeksha) refers specifically to
initiation in the sense of showing, informing or bestowing something
upon someone.
Shaktipat diksha
then, means "shakti-giving initiation."
Shaktipat diksha
may be likened to lighting one candle with another candle. Once the
life energy in the body is released through shaktipat, the
evolutionary force, kundalini, can awaken naturally.
Shaktipat Kundalini Yoga
Shaktipat Kundalini
Yoga is a personal journey unique to each individual. Through the
medium of shaktipat, meditation and the awakening of kundalini
occur naturally. Through this practice, you can make the most efficient
and effective progress possible, naturally and spontaneously.
This practice is also known
by many names: sahaja yoga, natural meditation, surrender meditation,
kriya yoga, samadhi yoga, maha yoga, siddha
yoga, etc.
Kundalini
Kundalini is the
evolutionary force that evolves the being to the natural state of timeless
bliss and freedom
Yoga
Yoga means 'union,'
union with God, Truth, the Divine. Yoga is the spiritual science
of reaching this ultimate fulfillment.
